Purpose

The Federation of Guitar Societies was formed to raise the profile of the guitar, and in particular stimulate interest amongst younger people. The current means to this end is by forming a network of existing societies to offer mutual support in the interest of promoting the classical guitar and related instruments, and providing a source of help and advice to enthusiasts.

FGS Annual Conference

The next Annual Conference of the FGS will be hosted by Enfield Classical Guitar Society on the 28 June 2009.

The venue is Highlands Village Hall, 5 Florey Square, Winchmore Hill, London, N21 1UJ (adjacent to Sainsbury’s car park).

10:30Welcome - coffee
11:00 Informal whole group warm up ensemble. Music to be supplied on the day
11:30Whole group ensemble rehearsal – piece to be advised. Music will be circulated in advance.
12:30 Lunch and informal practice time. UK Federation Committee Meeting
14:00 Each Guitar Society is invited to play a prepared piece (10-15 mins).
15:15 Tea
15:45Whole group performance
16:30Close
